Mining division

METALLOINVEST’s Mining division comprises two Russia’s biggest Mining and processing plants: Lebedinsky GOK and Mikhailovsky GOK.

Lebedinsky GOK holds the first rank in Russia and is among the top 10 entreprises worldwide for extraction and beneficiation of iron ore as well as for production of high quality raw materials for ferrous metallurgy. Lebedinsky GOK is the only Russian manufacturer of hot briquetted iron (HBI) — raw material for the advanced technology of direct iron recovery. 

The Holding’s Mikhailovsky GOK holds the second position amongst Russian manufacturers or raw materials for ferrous metallurgy.

Both entreprises have access to the iron ore reserves of Kursk Magnetic Anomaly – the largest iron ore deposit in Europe.

The Plants are located in the regions with developed transport infrastructure, allowing effective logistics and reduction of the transport costs. In its turn, the flexible technological process chart allows the Plants to optimize production parameters and to satisfy clients’ needs in a fast paced market.
